The synopsis and pre-scene cuts for episode 33, “The First Emperor,” which will be aired on Friday, March 7th, 2025, have been released from the winter anime “The Apothecary’s Monologue.”
“The Apothecary’s Monologue” is a Harem mystery-solving entertainment based on a novel that has sold over 38 million copies in total by Hinata Natsu, published by Hero Bunko and has also been adapted into comics for Big Gangan and Sunday GX. Set in the medieval East, the story depicts Nekoneko, a girl who plays the role of “Dogbi,” as she solves various difficult cases that occur at the Imperial Court one after another.
When the first season of the TV anime began airing in October 2023, it was always ranked high in viewing rankings on each streaming platform, and became a hot topic, winning the special award at the TVer Awards 2023. The second season, which will be broadcast in two consecutive seasons from January 10th, 2025, has been rising since the start, with the opening theme being decided to be “Hyakuka Ryoran” by Ikuta Rira.
Episode 33 “The First Emperor” Synopsis
During the investigation into the “curse” requested by Empress Dowager Yasu, Nekoneko decided to stay at Michi’s mansion for the first time in a while.
While listening to the story of Michi when he was a child in Suiren’s room, Nekoneko finds a mysteriously colored pebble in a bag containing Michi’s favorite toys from before.
It was a clue to the mystery of the “curse” that the Empress Dowager cast on the First Emperor – the former emperor’s body being the same as it was when he was alive.
Nekoneko visits the previous emperor’s room with the Empress Dowager and Miyoshi to reveal the secret of the deceased emperor and the true identity of the curse.
Episode 33 of “The Apothecary’s Monologue,” “The First Emperor,” will begin airing on Nippon Television’s “FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT” from Friday, March 7th. (※Episode 33 will air from 11:30pm)
