It has been revealed that Joe Wright , director of ” Dark Knight ” and ” Atonement ,” will be helming a new AI-themed thriller, “Alignment.”
According to Deadline, the film is set in a world where cutting-edge AI developed by a tech company manipulates the global market and intensifies conflict between nations. An executive who has not lost his sense of morality and a software engineer who is plagued by a sense of helplessness try to persuade his profit-driven colleagues to somehow disable the company’s AI before the world is devastated.
“Alignment” was written by Nathan Dotan, and last year Fifth Season won the rights after a bidding war. After that, a director was selected, and Wright was chosen. Fifth Season and Makeready will co-produce the project, with Scott Silver , the screenwriter for ” Joker ” and ” The Fighter ,” serving as executive producer.
